ecart sending 2 purchase receipts for one order

ecart sending 2 purchase receipts for one order

On occasion I am getting two email receipts for the same order. This is particularly a problem since my warehouse gets a copy (BCC) of these emails and could inadvertently send two packages for the one order. Is there a way to protect against this?

isnt that to do with the hosting you have as they set the timings for emails being sent?

also in Universal Email you can set the time delays for emails being sent, so that may help.

in Universal Email on the first part of the process click on the TO button then a new interface opens. you will see options for "Email Limits"

you could set the "wait" for 2 or 3 seconds (the default is 1 second so that could be the reason why you getting duplicates) that could solve your issue :)

I do not believe that this is our problem since we are only sending 3 copies of the email. For some reason intermittently it is sending a second copy of the email to the same 3 email addresses a minute or two later.

this usually happens with exchange email servers when they overloaded. like Chris has suggested, increasing the time between sending emails help to prevent that, however, if other users on your host are sending emails using the same SMTP server, that may cause the SMTP Server to be overloaded as well.

At the end of the day, it's an issue with the SMTP server. if increasing the wait time does not work, you would need to use a different SMTP server.

Can this be caused by a customer hitting "submit order" button twice?

if pressing the submit order button twice where causing the issue, it would also be processing the transaction twice through the gateway.

I dont think this is the problem you are having.
