Problem viewing site online

When I put the site online, there I get the following message:
_________________
Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/name/domains/www.domain.nl/public_html/Connections/PowerCMSConnection.php on line 9

Fatal error: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/name/domains/www.domain.nl/public_html/Connections/PowerCMSConnection.php on line 9

The local version works fine, there must be a problem connecting the mysql with the php at the online server.

What to do? I tried several things with the documents below but that did not work:
mysql_TPH.php
PowerCMSConnection.php

Kind regards, Stuward

Where is your database stored?

Did you setup the local installation to point to the remote database, or use a local database?

The error is basically telling you that it can't connect to your database using the root@localhost user.

Cheers

Thanks Ian. Sorry for the late reply, but the disfunctioning "captcha" stopped me from replying ...

> Yes, but where to look first to solve it? Do you have a "checklist" for determination...

Thanks, Stuward

Found it,

Only the "PowerCMSConnection.php" is needed. Changed the login settings from local to remote and it worked.

If you know where to look, it is simple ;-)
