Limit failed login attempts:

Limit failed login attempts:

What would be the best way to limit failed login attempts to 3 (or other number) for a certain time, like 30 minutes ?

It would be even nicer if it could be set like the following example:

3 failed logins within 5 minutes will cause a timeout of 25 Minutes
6 failed timeouts within 60 minutes will cause a timeout of 60 minutes
12 failed timeouts within 120 minutes will cause a timeout of 300 minutes

Any hints are highly appreciated

this would require hand coding to accomplish and is not supported.

you would need to create a table that would store the user name entered and time of login attempt, when the login fails use an insert record behavior to store the time and user name.

on further login attempts, using a recordset, you could count the number of records for the user name entered , and return the time of the first failed attempt. using the information returned from the recordset, you could reject further login attempts.
