Reinstalling DataBridge

I'm getting a number of javascript errors now, notably ones like this -

---------------------------
Dreamweaver
---------------------------
While executing findConnection in WADYN_CONN.htm, a JavaScript error occurred.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

They are thrown when DW loses focus, i.e., like when I switch to another appllication. Will removing and reinstalling lose me my presets or custom rules?

By custom rules, I am assuming you mean Security Assist Rules? If so, no those wont be effected by reinstalling.

Presets, though , you should back up before uninstalling the current version. Open the preset manager (WebAssist -> Preset Manger to export any presets you have created, once you have re installed, you can import the saved presets.

Thanks, Jason. I'll see if that takes care of this curious behavior.

I uninstalled DataBridge and started to install again. While that was going I noticed that I had HTML Editor, and Universal Email installed (but not activated). So, I cancelled the installation (by declining the license) and REMOVED those other extensions completely. Then I installed DataBridge. Installation completed without issue.

The error is still there. It happens when I have a page open from a site with dynamic connection to the database, and DW loses focus by bringing another app to the foreground (like when I brought this window forward to post the reply).

---------------------------
Dreamweaver
---------------------------
While executing findConnection in WADYN_CONN.htm, a JavaScript error occurred.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

If I close that page, or select another site (even with that page open), the error does not happen. If I close the page from the new site, bringing the page from the dynamic connection site back to the foreground, even though I have selected the new site in the Files panel, I still get the error.

Any clues there?

One other thing - when I start DW, the Memento popup has all images shown as broken. Dunno if that's meaningful....

I think at this point I would suspect corruption in the configuration folder, i would rename the configuration folder and start from a clean slate.

see the common installation issues page:
common_installation_issues.pdf

for details on locating the configuration, rename it, then open the extensions manager. the extensions will be marked as inactive, select each one and remove it, the reinstall them.

That did the trick. It was just deleting the win file cache that eliminated the problem. Glas I didn't have to go through the extensions dance again.

Thanks!
