Moving data 452 and new server

I set up a new hosting account on 1and1hosting per your recommendation. I published the new 452 files and I would like to copy the tables and data from the previous database server however I want to make sure that there were no updates to the tables made that I will overwrite. I see my existing database with my products and categories loaded also has kfm tables. Please advise if it OK to dump all tables and data and overwrite existing tables or if not how I should proceed.

Thank You,

the only tables you should not copy from the previous install are the tables whose names begin with "kfm_" and the wa_settings table.all of the other tables, you can back up and import to the new site.

OK to insert data from wa settings?

Is it OK to insert the data from the wasettings but NOT copy the table? Is there a way to check to be sure that only the data was copied and the table was not replaced?

the wa_settings table will be created when you run the install process, let the installer create the wa_settings table.

only copy the other tables to the new site to maintain the product information.

Import data

I did let the install create the table, but I imported the data from my previous install thinking it had my store settings in it trying to save time. I am hoping I did not defeat the purpose of the upgrade by doing this.

if you can go to the settings section of the admin panel and make changes that stick when you save the settings, you should be fine.
