wizard not working

I was about to run the wizard for PowerGallery, but the diagnostic check list said I had to disable safe mode for php.

After doing so I returned to my page, bajaflyfish.com/gallery/index.php, but it was at the admin login page and the diagnostic page had closed.

I couldn't get back to the wizard. I tried logging in, but I hadn't really made a login yet. Any suggestions as how to start the wizard over?

did you run the install wizard on your local computer before uploading?

The install will not run if it finds the connection file in the /gallery/Connections/ folder.

delete the /gallery/Connections/ folder from the server so the install can run.

so i deleted everything and reinstalled and reuploaded. the wizard came up, but now in the diagnostics list i have a red x under the file permissions. it says:

Files and directories cannot be created. Verify the PowerGallery v2 directory has write permissions on your server.

how do i get around this?

this means that the directory you uploaded power gallery to does not allow write access.

you may need to use a 3rd party FTP tool like File Zilla:
filezilla-project.org/

to edit the folder permissions on the server to allow for write access.
