Updating Product Table

Updating Product Table

I am using PayPal standard and most of the products on sale will be unique items so I want to put them to Reserved status on the website as soon as a client puts the item in their cart. I want to control the product change from on sale to reserved by the stock level changing to '0' that I can simulate OK. However, it is updating the stock level that is causing problems as I cannot get all the items in the Cart to update the appropriate product table stock level, it only changes the 1st item in the cart product list the rest of the items are ignored. It seems I can only use the Webassist update a single record that is potentially the problem hence only the first record being updated and the update multiple records server behaviour does not recognise the form table in the cart as a repeated region. Is there a way round this?

Thanks in anticipation of your help.

Keith

when the add to cart button is pressed, a hidden form element passes the ID of the item.

in the update record behavior, bind the Key Column value to the hidden form element to tell it which record to update.

Hi Jason - Thanks for the quick response.

Sure this is my lack of knowledge here again but I am keying into the Shop ID, I can demonstrate that by putting the ID into the cart to confirm that I have correct column as the number from the shop ID is that of the Product table ID. It works perfectly when there is only one item in the cart, it is not working though on subsequent additions to the cart, it is as if it is not seeing the repeat of the items being added to the page.

I have just been testing this further and now convinced the cart has something wrong and perhaps the reason for my initial problem as well, when I have more one item in the cart and I select to remove the 1st record in the page from the cart it delete all records and not just the one selected, if I do the same on 2nd or 3rd record it just removes the item selected as it should do, so I think there is something wrong with the way the page is seeing that 1 record in the list. Any simple ideas or should I just delete this cart and set it up a new new one?

Hope this makes sense.

Regards

Keith
