2012 Roadmap

Greetings Folks!
I'm just curious if we could get a roadmap for 2012 for your products.

Thanks!

Tom

Our high level plan is to consolidate features into larger products so we can get on a more regular update schedule for everything.

We just released Design Extender... our next release, instead of DataAssist v3, will be Data Bridge, which will be a combination of all of the rest of our extensions other than eCart. It will include what was going to be DataAssist 3 as well.

Then we'll do an update to Powerstore... combining PowerMessenger and PowerGallery v2 into that, and finally we'll combine all of our free tools into a single extension. Once we are done with combining we'll probably start taking down the individual extensions and only offer the combined versions.

By the third quarter we should only be offering 5 products for sale and 1 free: Design Extender, Data Bridge, eCart, PowerStore, Super Suite, and free tools.

The idea will be that we'll be updating one per quarter on a rotating basis moving forward. This way we can make sure to have a chance to update our entire product line on a more regular basis.

Data Bridge and Powerstore will have significant updates in this first round, so the rotation will most likely start with Design Extender, eCart, Data Bridge, and Powerstore.

There is a possibility we will add a fifth product to the rotation, but that probably won't be possible this year with everything else going on... The fifth product would be a Third-party tools product that might have extensions that help people work with wordpress and jquery or other third party platforms. This idea is still rough and not definite, but we see a lot of our audience going that direction so we want to be there to help them.

July 2012 - Roadmap for the rest of 2012

Just checking in. I just purchased DW CS6 and found a lot of mobile app support. Will WebAssist be offering anything in the way of jQuery products in Q3 or Q4?

Thanks.

We are concentrating on cleaning up and organizing our current product line first. That will probably take us well into next year.

Once that is done, then the new development project ideas include doing something around jQuery and possibly something for Wordpress.

Looking forward to more jQuery integration with your products...there's so many wondering jQuery effects that can benefit so much from dynamic data using php as the foundation. Also it would be great to also include integration of responsive design...possibly somehting that is more database driven so that the end user could have a database table which stores the various screen sizes of mobile, tablet and desktop that will improve workflow. Also I see that Adobe Dreamweaver is changing their CSS workflow so perhaps something that can work with that using database integration (thinking out loud lol).
