Will this work with Dreamwaever CS3

Will this work with Dreamwaever CS3

I already read the system requirements for the new Design Extender, and CS3 is not included. I also already no your policy on only going back 2 versions.

But my question is still, Would/Will the new Design Extender work with Dreamweaver CS3, can it even be installed?

I ask this question because currently I already own just about every extension WebAssist has, and the extensions I already own are also included in this new extension, but the difference is, the separate extensions that I already own DO work in Dreamweaver CS3.

So, If this New Extension does not work with Dreamweaver CS3, there really isn't any benefit to me in upgrading for the low upgrade price, correct?

This really would be a shame because I could see the great benefits to upgrading to the new Design Extender, but I will not be upgrading to the newer versions of Dreamweaver.

I hope to hear some good news about my question.

Thank you

Larry

After checking the the compatibility of the extensions if purchased separately or in the Super Suite, there seems to only be one extension that is NOT compatible with Dreamweaver CS3,

The reality is that we didn't have the bandwidth to test on CS3, so we can't be positive if it will work or not. We tested the extension on CS4, CS5, CS5.5, and CS6 for both PC and Mac.

Having said that, the build was created so that it will install on CS3, and since we really didn't make many major changes to most of the extensions they will probably still work... however if you did run into any issues specifically related to CS3 I can't guarantee we would be able to fix them.

Hi Ray, first thank you for your quick reply and your honest input. Could you please explain what you mean by "Having said that, we can definitely get you a build that will install on CS3".

I ask because I am very interested in this extension, especially at the upgrade price of $39.99.

Actually I almost outright purchased the upgrade, but thought I really needed clarification about my questions.

Please respond so I can make my decision about the upgrade.

Thank you

We tested it and the extension will install on CS3 and appears to install and work correctly without intricate testing.

I am in exactly the same boat, Larry. Please let me know how it goes for your CS3 installation. This is what the doctor ordered, and I'm excited to get Design Extender, but not if it means an Adobe upgrade.

Please reply here. Thanks!

Hi Awemaker,

I did upgrade, I had absolutely no problems/issues with the install, it went very smooth. And so far, after working with the extensions in Design Extender, at this point I have not had any problems.

The only extension I haven't used so far is the Social Media Toolkit, so I would have to say things seem to be working well in Dreamweaver CS3.

Thanks, Larry- good to know!

Yeah, I didn't get the Social Media Toolkit for its non-CS3-supporting claims, but now I'm not sure I believe that. If you do give that part a try and it's fine, would you please post that, too, here? I would certainly use it as well.

And, BTW, Web Assist-- getting your stuff, even new stuff, certified & supported as CS3 compatible can translate to more income for you in a recession, unless you have some deal with Adobe or don't need the money. ;-) Just sayin'.
