copy to sender blocked by host

copy to sender blocked by host

I Have received the following from a user;
-----------------
I never receive a copy when I send an email from the web site. This is extremely inconvenient because I never have a record of what I have sent. Do other users have the same problem?

My email service provider informs me that it is not getting through because it is being sent as if it were from me using my own email address as the sender. This is apparantly against correct practice and they refuse to change anything to let it through. Is there anything that can be done to put this right?

I am told this used to be the case with E-Bay until they put it right.
------------------
Is there a setting I can change to get round this? Most users DO get the copy back to their adress, so it is likeley only to affect a small percentage of users.

thanks
Chris

it sounds like the from address and the to to address are the same. Most hosts will not relay the email message if both the from and the to address are the same. the onlk way around it is to use a different email address.

Thanks Jason

But if I have a generic 'no-rely@' address as the sender and the real address as a cc or bcc, then people won't be able to reply. Am I missing something obvious?
Thanks
Chris

in the From settings, you can use a generic no reply address for the from address then set a real address for the reply to address.
