Center <div> in Full Width Header

Center <div> in Full Width Header

so, I have a full width header and footer. I want to create a <div> for the logo in the full width header, another <div> to the right of it for the navigation and then a <div> at the bottom for the navigation. If I hand code a <center> tag for each div, that does not really do what I want. I want to position it similar to the content wrapper. Do I use pixels or what?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Robert,

If I read your requirements correctly, you want to have a DIV centred within a parent?

You will need to set the DIV to relative, assign it a with and then set the left and right margins to auto.

I hope this helps?

Thanks
Ian

Thanks Ian....sort of centered but not really. Please see the attached sample. I will try the "RELATIVE" tag this evening......

Np.

With a DIV set to Relative, width specified and Left and Right Margins set to Auto it will centre it in its parent container.

If you want to control the position to the left or the right you can simply specify the left and right margins and utilise the float left and right if required.

Cheers

ok.....sorry...I am little confused...I created the the div's in Sculptor.....so, not sure where to put the relative tag? Or, do I create a class?

I can get what I want to do in a centered table but that renders inconsistently in various browsers.

you will need to edit the css directly to accomplish this. If you need more details, please send a link to your site.
