Access mySQL tables through dreamweaver?

Hello, i need to change some tables in the CMS but I don't have access to any client (like cPanel) like I normally do. The website is hosted by an educational source and it took days to get them to setup the mySQL databases in the first place (of which i have the username and password).

How can I access the mySQL database/tables without having direct access to it through something like cPanel?

the only way to update the table structure within Dreamweaver would be to write the Alter Table SQL command by hand, then run that SQL in a dreamweaver recordset behavior by clicking the test button.

other than that, you will need to have a MySQL GUI Client and connect it to the DB server. normally in a cpanel, they have PHPMyAdmin as the GUI Client. but you can use Sequel Pro, or Sequel Yog as well.

I dont have direct access to the database. I had to tell them to create it with the username and password i needed. So as long as I have the ip and the user and pass i can use a third party client (one of the ones you mentioned)?

you may be able to make the connection to the mysql database, but you will need to work that out with the hosting company.
