Is the W3C Validation that you are concerned about?

If so I believe that this is down to non-compliant code provided by the Social Media sites rather than the WA product (which just inserts the code provided by the Social Media sites).

I have to say, I think the worst offender is Google, which I think is pretty shoddy considering it harps on about how compliant sites will rank better etc etc

Cheers

I 'think' you will struggle to validate it if you want to use the Google Social code. The code they supply to use their service doesn't verify.

I am not aware that Stumbleupon provides Likes? The WA Social Toolkit just posts the link to the site - I might be wrong, but thats my understanding of how it works.

Ian is correct, you will struggle to validate your page when using social media like buttons. the code provided by the social media sites like google + and face book are not standards compliant scripts

you can show the counter for stumble uppon by changing the s attribute in the stumble upon script. change:

<script src="http://www.stumbleupon.com/hostedbadge.php?s=5&r=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.justvibe.co.uk"></script>

to:

<script src="http://www.stumbleupon.com/hostedbadge.php?s=2&r=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.justvibe.co.uk"></script>

in this code we changed s=5 to s=2

there are 6 possible badge designs for stumble upon, you select which to use through the s attribute.

the face book code at the top of your page references your domain correctly:
<fb:like href="http%3A%2F%2Fwww.justvibe.co.uk%2F"

the code further down the page is for the local host domain:
<iframe src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%2Findex.php

the same is true for the google plus code:
<g:plusone size="tall" href="http://localhost/index.php"></g:plusone>

I answered your questions about the stumbleupon count in my previous reply.

Hi Jason

thanks for the info and ref to the stumbleupon all you have told me to do is to change badge and that has nothing to do with showing the live count?

Thanks
Daniel

"all you have told me to do is to change badge and that has nothing to do with showing the live count?"

but it does, it has _everything_ to do with showing the live count.

changing the "badge" changes the way the stumble upon icon displays.

some "badges" include the live count, others don't.

there are six different badge designs.

you need to edit the s parameter to change which badge design is being used.

the badge design you are currently using does not include the count.

you need to select a badge design that does include the count.
