Shipping Information not transferring to PayPal

A customer is getting "Can't calculate shipping" messages when trying to checkout. So I put some items in a test cart and when I clicked to checkout at PayPal it did not bring the Shipping Info to PayPal only the billing info. I purposely put in a different shipping address to try to duplicate the customer error. They are trying to ship a gift to another state in which they live. I was able to complete checkout except for the shipping info missing. I was able to change the shipping address once I got to PayPal. Something needs an adjustment. lol.

Thank you WA
Dan

similar problem

I have a similar problem. I've checked and paste the IPN number on paypal. When some one goes to the site and enters information on checkout.php they don't get inserted in the database. after purchase the order doesn't show.

I think there have been some updates to IPN causing issues. I've started to see this more lately.

My best suggestion is to move to "Express checkout only" instead of paypal standard. It will be essentially the same process, but won't rely on IPN which seems inconsistent and is difficult to debug.

Express only will still allow users to checkout with credit cards and is a free service. Really the only advantage of paypal standard over express checkout is that the coding for express checkout is more complex, but we've done that part for you.

Please give that a try and let me know if you have questions or issues.
