Sending site to live remote server

Hi

I am having a few problems from moving a site from testing and local to the remote server.

Firstly, I had to change the connection details manually to what i set the database up as... will I have to do that everytime or is there a way to 'mirror' the database connections?

Secondly, am getting this error which I have no clue how to fix:

Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/sewarrbt/public_html/WA_Globals/WA_Globals.php on line 42

Warning: mysql_free_result(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/sewarrbt/public_html/WA_Globals/WA_Globals.php on line 67

Thanks in advance

Jamie

You will need to change the connection details manually each time.

for the error message, did you export the data from the local MySQL Database and import it to the remote database?

Using a mysql gui tool like PHPMyAdmin, you will need to export the local PowerCMS Database and import it to the remote database.

Thanks for the reply Jason

Re the export / import side of things.... how do I go about that?

in the PHPMyAdmin for your local server, selct your power cms database, then go to the Export tab. you can leave all of the defaults as is, and check the save as file option.

once the sql file is exported, see the "How to import a MySQL (.SQL) file to your database" tutorial on the learning resources page for details on importing the database.
