Need validation to show beside submit button

Need validation to show beside submit button

I have a really long form (no getting around it).

When there is a validation error up the page and someone hits submit they do not know to scroll up to see why or if the form validated/sent.

I need to show at the bottom beside that there is a validation error somewhere up the page....or even better have it auto scroll up to the error.

How can I do that?

BTW I am using Validations Tool tips for Spry as well.

Once we solve this I need help getting Cookies Tool kit to work also.
Like what div do I select to add the behavior to?

If I "Store complete form in a cookie" I suppose I want to also add the behavior to "Set Entire form from cookie" as well?

Thanks!

this can be done for the server validation error messages, but not the spry validation ones.

type your error next to the submit button, then select it, go to webassist -> Forms -> Validation -> Validation Show If. for the Validations Fail condition, select All.

"Like what div do I select to add the behavior to?"
when applying the set entire form from cookie, select the form tag.

"If I "Store complete form in a cookie" I suppose I want to also add the behavior to "Set Entire form from cookie" as well?"

you can if you like, but you don't have to.

I am afraid it does not go in that order:

"webassist -> Forms -> Validation -> Validation Show If. for the Validations Fail condition, select All."

My options are:
webassist > Forms > Validation > Server Validation >

Then I suppose
Validation trigger: "Any form post"
Validation Type: "Required / Not Blank / Selection Made"
Server variable: ?
I tried but it did not work "WA Validated Entries"

(BTW I do put forth effort trying to figure this out before I post here)

the server validations behavior should already be applied to the page by the form builder wizard.

if you look on the server behaviors panel (Window -> Server Behaviors) you should see that there is already a Server Validations behavior listed. there is no need to add another one.

under the Webassist -> Forms -> Validation menu, there should be 2 items:
Server Validation - this is the behavior used to validate the form
Validation Show IF - this behavior is used to show errors if the validation fails
