DataAssist or UE4 problem

I have insert insert & result page using dataassist & then applied UE4 for uploading files.. So everything is fine now.. but then when a user doesnt choose any file & if he just clicks UPLOAD BUTTON that gets stored in DB. I mean not the file.. File name & etc are empty.. but it doesnt show any error like "NO IMAGE UPLOADED" or etc.. how do we show that?

ANother thing i want to know is,
there are two field to enter. 1 is IMG & another is a text .. Both records get inserted to the DB.. text field is not *REQUIRED.. so in DB. by default i kept the value as //- No Comments -// so when the user uploads a file & doesnt enter any text in text field, so in DB it must show NO COMMENTS so this is not happening.. its not working. so can you temme what needs to be done.. please check the above field ATTACHED.

Just out of interest, why don't you just leave the Comments field blank if no comments are entered?

What is the purpose of having a default value of //- No Comments -//?

Thanks
Ian
