Custome Site but No Navigation Menu

Hi, I've followed the steps in the tutorial here creating-custom-templates.php

But the site created doesn't have a visible navigation menu.

I checked that I had used 3 editable regions, with 1 being for Navigation Menu.

I followed the process twice and each time the same result, No navigation menu.

Any help appreciated

Additional Info:

In the DW template page I use this code for the editable region intended for the navigation menu:

<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="navigation" -->
<p style="text-align: center"><em>edit this area to insert navigation menu</em></p>
<!-- TemplateEndEditable -->

The SS pages created have this code:
<!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="navigation" --><?php echo WA_getCMSContent($database_PowerCMSConnection, $PowerCMSConnection, 'Booking' , 'navigation'); ?><!-- InstanceEndEditable -->

From reading other posts that have had similar problems, the 'navigation' menu area that has been assigned to the Menu during the new site process should not be available for CMS editing as it should be assigned to the navigation menu?

=============================

Additional Information:

I've now replaced the previous html code used to identify the 'navigation menu' using this code

<div id="menu">
<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="TopNavigation" -->TopNavigation<!-- TemplateEndEditable -->
</div>

After generating the site in Site Sculptor, I can see the navigation menu code

<div id="menu">
<?php require_once("CSSMenuWriter/cssmw_content/menu.php"); ?>
</div>

This looks more like the code in the standard SS templates & pages.....I just need to upload and install to see if it works.
