Bypass shipping when using UPS

Bypass shipping when using UPS

I have a client who has been using PowerStore/UPS for the last year. They have suddenly decided that they want to give customers an option to bypass shipping, so they could pick it up in their store instead. Is this an option with PowerStore, or would it involve custom programming? Thanks! They are NOT using the latest version of PowerStore, by the way.

no, prior to Power Store 4.5 there was not the ability to choose a shipping method.

So, with PowerStore 4.5 there WOULD be the option to either have it shipped or to pick it up in the store? That's could be an option with P.S. 4.5?

yes, in power store 4.5 you can create multiple shipping rules.

you could create a Pickup shipping rule that did not charge any shipping, and you could create a UPS Shipping rule that would lookup the shipping rate through UPS, this would add a drop down selection to the checkout page for the customer to chose the shipping they want.

So, a dropdown list of UPS Ground / Pick Up at Store would be an option during checkout? Then there would be no costs associated with the Pick Up at Store option? That price could be set to $0.00?

How difficult would it be for a client to upgrade to the latest version of PowerStore without having to re-enter all of their products and product options?

Is that even a doable option? If so, what would the upgrade cost be?

Thanks, Jason.

yes, the drop down would list the shipping options you create. you could create one for instore pickup that was free and one for ups.

the power store support page has documents to follow for upgrading previous versions to 4.5:
powerstore/

the upgrade cost is $199.99

Thank you, Jason. I will let the client know and see how they want to proceed. :)
