Purchases not registering in Powerstore 4.5

Another hiccup just came to light. I've had a successful sale where the buyer used a coupon and everything went fine. Just 5 minutes ago, another registered user bought an item and the only message I received was from Paypal indicating I got money.

I went into the Admin panel to check the order and it doesn't exist... the user is registered so I can find his info to send the item, but there's no record of sales to him. He also used a coupon code and it didn't apply the discount to his purchase (so I refunded the difference). I haven't changed anything since the first sale aside from adding a new product.

What info/links can I provide to have some assistance with this?

-Coupon not showing or being applied
-Sale not being recorded

I'm sure the lack of update from the software is due to the lack of sale record.

More info:
-I was in contact with the latest purchaser and he indicated that the discount was applied in the Powerstore interface, but it didn't carry over to Paypal where he paid the full price of the item.
-He made another purchase of a different item and the same thing occurred; no record in the admin panel, coupon didn't work when transferred to Paypal, no confirmation of sale aside from the Paypal notification.

I have the same problem with my store

I have the same issue with orders not processing to the data base. The registration process works and orders do flow through the system which I also only know about because PayPal does provide a receipt when you make a sale.

Since orders don't post to the database nothing down stream works either. The customer does not get a confirmation email, etc.

I haven't touched any code so this must be a problem inherent to the program. I can't believe every customer hasn't this problem. Version 4.5 downloaded 8-20-11.

I want to set up another store while the program is on sale but can't justify buying another copy when this doesn't work.

are you using Paypal Payments Standard as the Payment Gateway?

In the case of CheopisIV, the issue was caused by using the wrrong address for the IPN file in the paypal account.

Go to your power store admin section. In the payment gateway settings copy the address for the IPN Page. in your paypal account, you will need to set the Paypal IPN System to use this page.
