License transfer question

License transfer question

I just lost a client to a "my neighbor's cousin's friend" who is a web designer. We've all been there, right? :-)

At any rate, I have a PG2 on his domain.

Since the license is domain specific, I assume it is OK to hand over the files, images, mysql export, etc.

If the "neighbor's cousin's friend" can't handle the installation etc, and the site doesn't then use the license, can I reassign to a new domain and reuse for another client?

Thanks much.

the registration is domain specific, but the license still belongs to you.

if they decide not to use power gallery on that domain, let us know and we can delete the registration for it so it can be used on another domain.

Thanks Jason.

They have moved to another provider and not only can they not figure out the gallery, they also dumped all my other php/mysql content. What a waste.

Please release gallery license so I can apply to my next project. Let me know what to do.

Thx

Thanks Dani, but that will reset all my products. I just want to do one of the galleries. How should I do this? I am ready to move to a new domain.

Thanks

what is the domain?

I can look up the activation by domain for you and delete it from our system.

I think I solved it. I just started a new install, used the new domain and it is working. Maybe a new install with same password overwrites the older install and older domain?

Old was kenungararchitect.com - not being used. They jerry rigged an html system. Not using database for any site content etc... changed design because they couldn't do my design. Oh well.

New is weberspetsupermarket.com
index.php?gallery=1&theme=light

so working... guess that will do it. :-)

Different client, same story. This time though, they sucked down all my work, including the gallery. It is not the same domain, so how can they be using it? Isn't it tied to a domain name? Thanks.

We don't automatically disable live sites when an activation becomes invalid. Just in case users have moved servers, we don't want to cause any unnecessary problems... they will just get an error displayed in the admin stating the activation is invalid and instructions to contact us for another license.

You can clear the activations on our downloads page directly. Just do it immediately before you are activating it on a new domain and you can take over the activation... then they will start getting the error message in their admin.

If I were to clear it before then (like now) it would just automatically re-activate the next time they accessed the site.
