Should there be 2 sets of duplicate files on the remote server?

Should there be 2 sets of duplicate files on the remote server?

When viewing the file structure at GoDaddy it looks like the htdocs folder has in it the same files as the root directory.
Is this Normal?
Duplicate files get overwritten when uploading a new version of the site? Right?

Something seems weird.

I well send hosting login info if you would be kind enough to take a look?

I've really needed your support with this new site and it has really been going great and moving right along.
Thank you!

I cant speak for GoDaddy, but most hosts will have a www folder and an htdocs folder. the www folder is actually just a symbolic to the htdocs folder. in other words, clicking the www folder just opens the htdocs folder.

this is mot likely the same thing you are looking at, but if you are concerned and want clarification, you should ask GoDaddy support.
