Bing only indexs 2 pages

I love the idea of this extension, but am having problems with Bing indexing my site.

I have submitted a site map and have a friendly robots file, however when I search for site:birchhill-preschool.org.uk in Bing, I get 2 results where as in Google I get 9 pages of results.

Any ideas?

The Bing Search extension has nothing to do with how the bing search engine indexes your site.

Looking through the pages on your site, I see that many of them have empty keyord and description meta tags.

Does this mean that Bing only uses the Keyword and description meta tags and that a search will only find terms within those tags?

No, keywords and description meta tags are not the only factor that bing uses, but it is a main factor of any SEO optimization effort.


Bing concentrates on the title tags, the keywords and description tags quite a bit.

it also looks at page content , pages with more content are more likely to be indexed.

Ive added a description and keywords to each page, however the search only seems to search the text in the meta description not the text on the page.

Bing does not like pages with less than 350 words on them.

also, the description and keywords should be unique on each page.

the description meta tag will be used as the description in the bind results, the key words meta tag should contain keywords for that particular page, not the entire site.
