Dynamic pages from different templates

I have previously created a website where almost all the pages have different layouts.
In addition, most pages in multiple languages.
Each pages is static with a php-menu included, times the number of languages. A total of 65 pages in three languages.
Now I want to convert the site into a database-driven, dynamic site - without changing the pages layouts.
I want to create content management system, administration options, File Upload, database-driven forms and be able to add text for each language on the same page.
If I have understood correctly, all the pages builds from the same template.
Amateur as I am, I wonder if you could not put the link to the template page in the table in the database. And then tell the system to use this particular template. In other words, I would not have 65 pages but only 21 pages as template pages.

Using a database variable to tell the site what template to use will not be quite doable, but there are a couple of other options.

1) Using Framwework builder, you could convert the templates to Themes. Then apply the Dynamic theme to your pages based on a session variable or a url variable.

2) you could create a separate database for each languages content, then use subdoamins and Dynamic Connections to connect to the correct database for that language. for example, the subdomains could be:
english.mydomain.com
spanish.mydomain.com

then set up dynamic connections to point spanish.mydomain.com to the spanish version of the database, and english.mydomain.com to the english version of the database.
