Email Encrypted Password Return

hi there

I'm in the process of setting up 'Security Assist Email Password' pages, but I can't see where the password return page is created...

I know I can set a return URL in the Wizard, but don't know how to set this return page up to retrieve the users's ID from the email...

Can you help please

many thanks

Hi Rob
I worked on a similar thing a while ago, I don't know if this will help but it may be worth a look.

There are a series of videos on the archived documentation on the following page:

securityassist/

Go to Archived Documentation and under Solution Recipies

Modifying Registration (Interactive Tutorial)
Changing the Update Profile (Interactive Tutorial)
Creating a New Password page (Interactive Tutorial)
Updating Send Password (Interactive Tutorial)

I am pretty sure you have to manually create the page and add the behaviours to it.
I hope this helps
Steve

Check out the videos, I worked through them ok some time ago, the password seems to be being sent as an encrypted format, not sure why, but I will post a new thread on this and hopefuly get a solution soon.

hi Steve

Thanks very much for your help - though I would have expected this page to be created for me in the latest version of Security Assist...

Jason - any thoughts ?

thanks

security assist will create these pages for you if you use the Create Security Assist Pages wizard to create the pages.

If you are manually applying the Security Assist Email Password behavior to your pages, no pages will be create, you will need to create them yourself.

only the Create Security Assist Pages wizard will automatically create pages for you.

hi Jason

Thanks for your reply...

Yes I've tried the Create Security Assist Pages wizard but it doesn't create a return page... only login, logout, registration, userupdate and forgotpassword pages...

Am I missing something ?

the forgot password page is the return page. the wizard will add the Email password and email password return behavior to the forgot password page.

I have changed the registration and profile pages to encrypt the password but I can't see how to decrypt the password when sending the username and password in the EmailPW page.

thanks

there should be a session created that contains the unencrypted password, in the email body, you can include the un-encrypted session variable rather than using the value from the database, send a copy of your page and I can tell you the code to change.
