PCMS Remote Root

I just moved my site from my testing server to the production server. My navigation menus are not working due to the root structure being different (test site was in a sub folder of the root directory (public_html/SA1/). The root directory is now just public_html.

In my database WA Settings, I removed the /SA1/ from the PCMS Remote Root, so that it was just /public_html/. That did not resolve the issue as it was forcing /public_html/ into the url for the requested page.

I tried removing the /public_html/ completely from the PCMS Remote Root. What I got was even more strange. See the following example

I have several top level navigation pages. Examples would be "batterycables.php", "fueltanks.php" to name two. Beneath each of these top level pages, I have sub pages. These are available via the drop down navigation beneath the top level pages.

I click on a top level navigation link, in this case "Battery Cables". The page loads correctly and the URL = "http://safeair1.com/batterycables.php". I click on the next top level navigation link "Fuel Tanks" and this page loads correctly also and the url = "http://safeair1.com/fueltanks.php"

I now select a page from below the top level navigation; in this example I'll chose the "Quality" page located beneath "Battery Cables". This page loads fine and the url = "http://safeair1.com/batterycables/quality.php". I then select another sub page from the "Battery Cable" drop-down. In this case a page called "FAQ". The navigation at this point breaks, the page does not load because the url is pointing to "http://safeair1.com/batterycables/batterycables/faq.php". Any additional navigation from this point, regardless if the page is top level or lower level, will result in a broken url directory link.

If a visit to the site is necessary, the domain is safeair1.com. The index page file name has an underscore prefix => _index.php.

PCMS Remote Root

This was a total guess fix; but at this point it appears to have resolved the issue. I noted that within my database WA Settings, I removed the /SA1/ from the PCMS Remote Root, value field, so that it was just /public_html/. Then I tried removing the /public_html/ completely and the issue was still not resolved. After submitting my original post, I thought to try placing a "/" (no quotes) in the value field w/in the PCMS Remote Root. This appear to have worked.

If, however, anyone recognizes the above solution to be unstable or will cause additional navigation issues, please let me know.

Thanks - Les

No, that is the correct fix for the problem.
