Search based on dropdown

How would I get this to work? Please see attached screen capture and the results.php code (below) which I am requesting the 3 fields. Code is also attached. Thank you!

//Dropdown test
$search1 = $_REQUEST['search1'];
$search1text = $_REQUEST['search1text'];
$search1condition = $_REQUEST['search1condition'];
//end test

//comparison list additions

$WADbSearch1>addComparisonFromEdit($search1,$search1text,$search1condition,"Includes",0);

the problem is that you are modifying the code by hand rathwer using the data assist search behavior to create the code.

first, on the results page, open the bindings panel and select Form Data, click the folder icon and select the search page to add bindings for the search page form elements.

now double click the data assist search server behavior.

click the plus button to create a new criteria, select the columns that will be searched and other criteria options.

for value, click the lightning bolt icon and select one of the search form bindings.

repeat this process for the other two search fields.

Thanks! I don't understand how that might work with my dropdown on my search page? Basically, what is happening now is it doesn't matter what I select in my dropdown.. It's just searching all the fields. Super confused. Thanks for your help Jason :)

I'm looking closer at your example code, and it looks like you are trying to do something that is not supported by data assist or any other webassist tool

you are trying to dynamically set the search field and criteria based on the selections made in the dropdowns.

this is not supported functionality in data assist.

Thanks for looking at it. I think I am. I'm trying to add 2 condition statements into it:

1. contains
2. not contains

Is this not supported? I believe I'm close with my code. Right now my main problem is that if you just search one of my text dropdowns in the search.. it searches all the fields instead of just the one selected. That's my problem.
