Spry.Widget.TextTield ERR:

I Creat a Security Assist Pages. Whenever I do a Live View on the registration page I get the following error

Spry.Widget.TextTield ERR: Unknown validation type received as the second parameter

I have deleted all pages and the webassist folder several times and started again, but all to no avail.

See registration.php

There appears to be an issue with how SecurityAssist is creating the spry validation for confirm fields.

You can get rid of the error by finding where "undefined" is referenced in the spry script tag at the bottom of the page and update it to "none". However the confirm field still won't function properly.

To fix the confirm field validation entirely you would have to follow the steps outlined in this thread:
showthread.php?t=21986

We have logged a bug on this issue and will get it fixed in the next update to avoid this inconvenience.

I have done what you said (I think) but the code allows registrations where the passwords do not match. See registration.php

When do you think the update will be done? I only purchased the upgrade three days ago and have achieved no progress yet.

Looks like you still need to add the Confirm .js and .css files to the head and you still have to change the error message class references after the confirm field.

You have updated the script .js code properly.

It will likely be a week or two before we are able to get out the update. I may be able to get a beta out to you personally quicker but we have to go through a build and QA process before an official release can be available and we just discovered this issue yesterday so we don't even have it fixed internally yet.

What version of Dreamweaver are you using? This could be an issue with needing to install the latest spry validation into your DW.

Security Assist 2.0.3 update

hi Ray

I've been having the same problem.

I've just downloaded the 2.0.3 update - is there an easy way to implement the new code rather than build the pages again ?...

thanks

Not really an easy way to do this, you would need to completely remove the password and confirm password fields, then re apply them to the page by going to Insert -> Spry -> Spry Password field, Insert -> Spry -> Spry Confirm Password field and basically rebuilding the password and confirm password functionality.
