Downloading a 34Mb ZIP file fails

Downloading a 34Mb ZIP file fails

RMPsD_dl.php

The Firefox download tab says, "starting.." for approx. 5 minutes before failing with the message, "C:\Users\SAS\Downloads\RIPMaster_Ps_Free.zip.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

Try again later, or contact the server administrator."

Any ideas anyone ?

You could try extending the server timeout on top of the page:

set_time_limit(0);

a '0' time limit is actually unlimited. One possible issue with this is that some servers won't let you change the time limit for scripts. When that is the case it could be difficult to solve without changing hosting providers.

Not a PHP time out error ?

OK, I've tried it with LOTS of different file formats and sizes.

A file of approx. 30MB downloads in approx. 1minute 10 seconds.

ANYTHING OVER 32MB FAILS ! ...... do you think this could be a script problem ? I do :D

WebAssist ?

It seems unlikely that it would be a script problem. Most likely it is a script timeout or you may need to increase your memory_limit setting in your php.ini.

I can set up a test here to see if I can reproduce the problem and identify a script issue.

memory_limit ?

I see that the memory_limit is set to 32M :D I'll see if I can change this ?

Sorted, thank you !

Created a php5.ini file and set to 64M and everything works.

THANKS ..... I love WebAssist (Not in a homosexual sort of way) ;)
