Stuck on Step 3 of installation

I am stuck on step 3 where is asks for the server/hostname. What do I put there? Do I put the IP address, nameserver, ....? They need to show an example.

I get this error:
ERROR: Could not connect to the MySQL database. Please verify the server, username, and password are correct.

I know my username and pasword are correct and I have set up the MySQL database correctly. I am hosting through Host Gator.

Thanks,
Nick

That is the mySQL database server name. You would probably log into your host gator admin and it would be listed. You can also see it when you sign in to mysql myAdmin on the top of the page. Some hosts just use localhost, otherwise it should be listed in the database administration section of your hosting admin control panel.
