Count of Search results

Hello
My favourite vehicle website has some excellent features one of which is counting of items which are selectable for a search.
See page usedbikes

I wondered if anyone knows how this is carried out.

Its a real plus being able to search knowing if the selection will bring a result!

I attach an image which shows better than I can explain.

Many thanks
John

When you populate the list from the recordset you can include a count in the query to return the number of results associated with that selection.

The only difficult part is writing the correct sql query and that would depend on your database structure and what you are counting.

Thanks Ray

I wonder do you know of any tutorials anywhere that might cover this?

A good place to start is the mysql developer documentation site:
