Parse error

I get the following error message after placing include code in a simple php page:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /homepages/18/xxxxxxx/htdocs/xxxxxxx/index.php on line 16

Code looks like this. Dreamweaver says code error in lines 16/17:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
<title>George Slingsby’s photograph album</title>
<link href="george.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
</head>

<body>

<div class="container">
<div class="header"><a href="#"><img src="mast.gif" width="784" height="147" alt="XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" /></a>
</div>
<div class="content">

include('/homepages/18/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/htdocs/xxxxxxxxxx/powergallery/galleries/grid_fullsize/index.php');

these two lines:

php:
$pg_id*=*'1';

$pg_theme*=*'light';

should not include the asterisk:

php:
$pg_id='1';

$pg_theme='light';

Weird

Thanks.

That's very strange. The two asterisks were invisible in BBEdit and Dreamweaver and only appeared when I pasted the code into the box, where I omitted to check the dodgy code.
