users_Logout.php

Created users_LogOut.php. Had code reviewed in premier appointment ticket. Can successfully use on my Macbook and my Hewlett Packard Zeen (mobile). Can LogOut on a PC but it stays logged out every time we try to order and checkout.php. The cart.php page shows up when ordering and click checkout.php button/page that Security assist made, fien on MAC - on PC, it goes to users_LogOut.php when it is set to be functional on MAC cehckout.php links to confirm.php. Restarted Internet Explorer and still continual Logged out successfully like it is frozen on the page.

I temporarily took the page off of the site until I can figure why there is this loop of somekind.

i dont see any problem with the logout page.

it sounds like one of your other pages has a redirect in place to send you to the logout page if you are not logged in.

What really is the best way to log out and/or clear other session variables.

First off, at the moment I can't remember if SA has it's own separate log out function. Using the built in DW logout, all it seems to do is clear the User ID and not all other session variables.

On the site I'm working on, I want the logout to clear everything. In addition, there are places I want to clear all or some session varsity without logging out.

The site is n ASP, so maybe that's making it more complicated than it needs to be. I also know the code the clear a single session variable so I use that when I don't want an actual logout.

Lastly, and just looking for opinions on this, is it better to use a sinle click log out say from the Nav bar, or direct to some sort of are you sure type middle step, or just log right out and direct to a confirmation? I've seen both ways, but it seems more and more it's just a one click process.

LogOut

The users_LogOut was created by Security Assist as a separate page and I am told that it clears all of the session variables. Somehow it has been fixed in this problem when the computer was restarted, but a client should not have to do this. When creating the cart with WebAssist e-cart, and checkout goes to checkout.php. In this case the checkout button went to logout instead form an unknown reason. As Jason did look at the code and found no problem on the LogOut pages and I have not found any other re-direct issues.

Just FYI to Lon Winters.
