Passing an ID from detail page to a Dynamic List

Hi

I have been trying to figure out how I can gat the Id from a detail page and pass it into a dynamic menu.

On my detail page I have have an insert button. This takes me to a insert form page with a dynamic menu. I need to pass the ID from the detail page into the dynamic menu using "set value equal to:" in the dynamic menu interface.

I just need to be guided on the correct procedure to do this.

Thanks in advance

in the select value equal to option, click the lightning bolt and select the corresponding column from the main recordset on the page, then one that is used to populate the other form elements on the page.

Hi Jason

Sorry I just re-read my post and realised it may be misleading.

I have a detail page and on this page I created a link to an data assist insert page. On the Insert page I have a dynamic menu. What I am trying to do is somehow get/store the ID from the detail page so when I click on the link that takes me to the insert page the ID from the detail page populates my dynamic menu.

Is this still the same process you described?

Secondly I dont quite understand what you mean by...

then one that is used to populate the other form elements on the page.

Thanks in advance

you have 2 recordsets on the page
1) the main recordset that is used to populate the other form elements on the page

2) The one for the dynamic list.

the value stored in the main recordset for the column that is driven by the list will be used to set the selected item in the list.

The main recordset is already filtered by the passed in ID, Use the main recordset to set the selected item in the list.

to do this, Click the lightning bolt next to set selected and select the corresponding column from the main recordset.

then one that is used to populate the other form elements on the page.

should have read:

the one that is used to populate the other form elements on the page.
