Email Templates Don't Display Upon Receipt

Just purchased and am kicking the tires on the product, having a problem with the Email templates.

When I create and send a mailing using any of the Email templates, the message does not display as designed AT ALL. The received Emails don't look anything at all like the template design, from font choices to layout to colors.

How can I solve for this? Could something have gone wrong during installation? Help...thanks.

Saw another post that suggested magic quotes was the issue, but the solve did not work for me.

Still hoping for an answer. Thanks.
