DataAssist & DW Templates

DataAssist & DW Templates

To Jason:

After successfully inserting the Data Assist's image-file upload function in one of my WebPages, that page has now lost some of the features stated in the DW Template I used to create it.

That page was in perfect shape before inserting the function mentioned above; does it mean that Data Assist nullifies DW Template features? Does it mean I cannot combine DW Templates with WebAssist extensions?

No, data assist should not effect the template applied to the page.

Can you provide more details on what "features stated in the DW Template" have been effected?

can you send a screen shot showing the issue (compress the screen shot in a zip archive for visibility)?

A copy of the page would be helpful as well.

Jason:

Attached please find a copy of the DW page in question. You will also find a screenshot of that same page (CherryScreenShot01) and a screenshot of another page designed using the same template (CherryScreenShot02)

Please notice that the page in quetion is positioned on the left-hand side of the screen (CherryScreenShot01), while the second one is placed in the center of the screen, which is how the template is designed.

Thank you for your attention.

Your screen shot shows the page using IE as the browser, have you tried using another browser?

IE is picky about output on the page before the doctype tag. any output on the page before the doctype causes IE to go into quirlks mode. in quirks mode, IE usees the 5.5 rendering engine.

There are two spots I see that would cause this.

1) line 25 - 27:

php:
?>

<?php?>
<?php

delete the <?php?> at line 26:

php:
?>

<?php

2) line 5 - 7:

php:
?>

<?php require_once('Connections/LovingPanda.php'); ?>

delete the blank line at line 6:

php:
?>

<?php require_once('Connections/LovingPanda.php'); ?>

Jason:

It works. Thanks. Your suggestion about using another browser is well taken, but we still need to test the pages using all browsers to ensure that all users may see them correctly.

Many thanks for your attention.
