xampp & cURL

xampp & cURL

I have 2 questions:

1. I have xampp 1.7.4 installed and working on my workstation. The xampp 1.7.2 install video on your site says I have to put my PHP files (I assume the entire powerstore folder) in the c:\xampp\htdocs folder. I keep all my website files on my server so they are backed up. Do I have to put powerstore in c:\xampp\htdocs to be able to test the application?

2. When I run the powerstore install, I get a cURL error. How do I fix this?

Thanks.

the power store files need to go into the website root.

in most XAMPP installations the localhost/ web address maps to the c:\xampp\htdocs folder

if you have XAMP configured to use a different path for the localhost address, then use this other path.

additional, you may want the power store files to be in a subdirectory of your site:
powerStore

if this is the case, then create a subdirectory for the power store files in the site htdocs folder.

see this page for details on enabling the Curl extension in XAMPP:

create new db on localhost

thanks for the info. I'm using Windows 7 so the only change that was needed was one ini file as the others don't exist in Win7.

I have a new problem. I logged into PHP MyAdmin but it won't let me add a new database.

go to the privileges tab in PHP admin, edit the privileges for the root user to allow all actions.
