Making HTML Editor a required field with client validation

Hi,

I think I've seen this asked before on the forums, but I've searched for about half an hour and cannot find it. The client validation for a HTML Editor 3.01 field doesn't work. I want to make my editor field a required field. Whenever I include validation for this field the form submits regardless, ignoring all other validations set on other fields. If I remove the validation on the HTML Editor field then the form properly checks the other fields.

How can I make the HTML Editor field required, without using Server side validation?

Hi, have you tryed do the Spry Validation Text Area before you insert the HTML Editor 3?

Ive done that on some sites and it works great.

Hi Morgan,

I've not tried the Spry validation text area method no, as I read in several posts that spry validation didn't work with HTML Editor - However, does your method involve creating a spry validation text area and then removing the actual text area control and replacing it with the HTML editor once the validation has been configured?? As I think that might work. If I've got the wrong end of the stick would you mind sharing your technique?
