faking a cfgrid with data assist

faking a cfgrid with data assist

Perhaps this is superfluous but I have to try...

I like the look of cfgrid, but it is a relatively useless thing that is hard to configure. I want to fake it using a typical data assist results page.

I have a results page set up to look like an excel spreadsheet. When the user clicks update, instead of it going to the update form, I would like it to re-open the results page and isolate the row pertaining to the URL.ID. Then I am going to stick in all the fields and drop down lists that are already on the update page for that row and leave the rest of the rows as they are.

I have tried this using a series of nested cfif statements for each outputted result with some success, but it is a cumbersome approach. Is there a slicker way to recognize that row in the outputted query of a typical data assist results page using the ID in the URL?
