add db connection in dw error

can anyone help with the following. while trying to add a database connection for my remote and local site i receive the error ...

HTTP Error Code 404 File Not Found: Here are some possible reasons for hte problem:

1) There is no testing server on the server machine.
2) The testing server specified for this site does not map to MMHTTPDB.php url. Verify that the url perfix maps to the root of the site.

thank you.

This is usually an issue with your site's testing server configuration... specifically the url prefix setting as the message indicates.

this point to a problem in the Dreamweaver site settings, specifically the URL Prefix used in the Testing Server section.

It looks you entered 127.0.0.1 as the URL prefix, what happens if you open a web browser and paste that address in the address bar?

What operating system are you using?

Have you installed a testing server?

See the learning resources page for details on installing a testing server:

this page will will also have tutorials for configuring the Site in Dreamweaver and creating the database connection.

db window

At tis point my database window/tab is grey and it does not allow me to click the + bottom to add a database. it was working prior and now it is greyed out. it seems i can create yet another site and it will allow me to do this. but not for the testing server or remote server i just setup.

ok

ok, back to original issue. the doc type defaulted to coldfusion instead of php. trying to reinstall my testing server.

Most likely the issues where a cause of enabling authentication on the testing server.

In the Site Definition, make sure that the Server Model is set to PHP
