HTMLEditor 3

1. There is currently no access to HTMLEditor 3 Support documentation. The Link under 'Support Resources' (Click for available Getting Started Guide, Help, Solution Recipes, FAQ's, & more.) simply returns the same page.

2. But, wow. Great functionality. Wow.

3. Once a version that works is released it should be a winner.

Thanks

Hi Jason,

I am probably just having bad luck, but for me (and others) the new Editor just will not recognise the style sheet(s) that contain the site styles. I know that it has 'seen' it, because it adopts the 'body' class that is contained in the site sylesheet, but it will not add the styles to the HTMLEditor instance style select list.

A couple of us have spent severat hours on this, trying to make it work.

Apart from that, it seems to be excellent - cool GUI - and I especially like that you can add new (extra, ad hoc) styles (property by property) in the GUI. That is a truly cool feature.

I worked myself up into a bit of a huff over the weekend, because none of the last four products I have bought or upgraded to (HTMLEditor, 2xPowerCMS, PowerGallery, and PowerStore4) are working correctly.

I have a particularly huffy post somewhere about here which details this a bit more - forgive me - I was tired and irritable.

Hopefully - there will be answers in the HTMLEditor GSG for this particular problem, and the light will dawn as my ignorance shines through (as always).

I will post separate temperate posts for my other problems later on.

Thanks

The style sheets aren't used to populate the style list. They are only used to define the css that is applied to the html editor body when displaying content.

Styles need to be added individually. We considered adding a feature to get styles from a style sheet, but because of the complexity of css styles and the lack of important details like the tag to use, label to use, and the ability to define nested styles and classes as well as being able to specify inline styles it seemed better to have the GUI for adding styles individually.

Are you trying to add a whole lot of styles to this list? Do you have a sample css you are trying to get styles from I can look at? We could consider adding an import from css feature in the future, but it doesn't work that way in this release.

Hi Ray,

I replied to these points in a previous post. I think the points you make here are c/p from that thread?

Not a cut and paste, but probably very similar.

I've noted your suggestion and we'll add it to the next free dot release.
