File placement of .PHP files

Clearly there are some basic things (for many in this community) I have not found documentation or scripts for….

I used the extension manager to to add UE but where are the PHP files supposed to be? Where/how according to Web Assist are they supposed to be added to my local folder for my domain, localhost-testserver, or on live domain. Will I only be able to adequately edit it on a live domain? ...or is that just going to be live testing?

If you have installed UE, then you are ready to use it in DW.

The files will be placed and created automatically when you use the wizard to create email functionality.

When and why are you using universal email? It most likely means applying the Universal Email server behavior on the page where you want to send the email.

Re:When and why are you using universal email

That is the interesting part, because I am new to PHP I tried to apply it to a *.HTML page assuming PHP code was added to an HTML page. Seeing that there were files in the Help system I manually copied them into local site area. It occurred to me later that submitting action <Blank> (to current page) meant that the current page had to be a *.PHP page with your product. Or is that always the case?

Any server side code... server behaviors... need to be on a dynamic page and not an html page.
