Coupons

How does Powerstore handle a situation where a client tries to buy a products for say $9.99 with a coupon code that has a value of say $19.99 ?

Or is this something that would need to be hand coded ?

In that case, the Total will be Default to 0.

Thanks Dani, what happens to the remainder of the value of the coupon if the client checks out with the cart total at zero ?

The client will say the Total amount of the Coupon that got applied in all places where the discount are shown, however the total will always be shown as 0.
the remainder of the coupon value that did not get applied will just be unused.

So if it was a gift certificate for example they would lose the unused amount as it is not stored anywhere, correct ?

That is correct. But really it is designed more as a coupon system than a Gift Certificate system.

Thanks Dani, can I suggest that a gift certificate system be put on the roadmap for version 5

Yes.

I have logged a feature request which will be looked at in future PowerStore releases.
