menuwriter not updating when changed

menuwriter not updating when changed

I am currently updating some of our navigation bar links through CSS Menuwriter. My website is based on 4 template pages. I assumed that if I updated the template and did an update (all in Dreamweaver CS5) on all pages that use the template, then the navigation bar would update sitewide. However, when I do what I just described, through the templates, the navigation bar does not update. What am I doing wrong? Will I have to touch each page's navigation bar to update which is what I am trying to avoid).
Thanks in advance for any help!

Once your navigation menu is built you can amend the links a lot quicker and easier by simply editing the HTML code in the menu.php file located in CSSMenuWriter > cssmw.

If you open that page in Dreamweaver you'll see your menu is just an unordered list so add the new page names and links into the list where you want them to be placed in the menu. Save the page and (assuming your menu was originally included in the template files) your navigation should be updated site-wide.

Hope this helps you.

not seeing html file

I was excited to read your answer but once I looked at the files, I do not see a menu.php file within cssmw.
Under cssmw, I see the following:
menu_ie.css
menu.css
menu.js
menustyle.xml
treexml.xml

What to do now?

Thanks for any help given!

Updating the meu through the template should work, though. You must make sure to re-upload the CSSMenuWriter folder and files when the changes have been made.

How are you updating the menu? Through the CSSMenuWriter interface?

not seeing html file

Yes, I am updating through the CSS Menuwriter interface. When I update it through this interface (within the template), I don't see it update on the other pages. Am I doing something wrong?

to force the other pages to be updated, go to Modify -> Tempplates -> Update Pages.
