Problems in editor uploading images

In the Image Properties Window when I click on the 'Browse Server' button on the Image Info tab it opens the next screen and it is blank. It points to HTMLE...fck&type=Image. I close the window and click on the 'Browse' button in the Upload tab. I can select an image from my server and when I click on the 'Send it to the Server' the image properties window opens and looks like it is uploading but it doesn't and I have to eventually close the page down. In the Editor Settings for Super Admin User the image folder points to '/home/tambopc/public_html/powercms//files' I have tried changing the settings in the wa_settings table to remove the / but this makes no difference. can you help please.
