Sample of dropdowns

Sample of dropdowns

I've searched the forum in this section and have only found one sample of how a dynamic dropdown is used. Does anyone have an example to share? Sounds like a newbie question, I think! But I have an older site that is in need of an upgrade for some functions, and I think this may be the ticket, so looking for how folks are putting it to best use. Thanks.

If there is a working example of this, I would really love to see it. Alternately, if any user has a live one to view and is willing to share, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

There is an example of dynamic Dropdowns in the help documentation:

go to Getting started -> Sample Application:

i set up a test page using a dynamic dropdown for another thread.

the result is a VERY simple example, but should give you an idea.

on choosing a start number from the first dropdown, the second list (end number) is limited, so that only numbers greater than the first number are available.

eg if you choose 200 from the first dropdown, you only have numbers above 300 from the second.

if you choose 500 from the first, you only have numbers above 600 from the second.

any more questions, please ask

A version of the sample in the help documentation can be found here dynamicselection.php

The search function of this site uses it. Choose country and then (in the region dropdown) states or counties. Choose US and you get states, choose UK and you get counties.

I did a tutorial a couple of years ago that is still up on the archive of my site here if that is of any help.

I'd like to see it being used in a live ecommerce site, such as sorting products by category, size, color price etc.

we do not have such a sample available, maybe one of the community members will be able to provide a sample.
