Plug in from SQL List

It's great to see this product hitting the shelf. It's one of my primary requests (along with a few other folks) from Web Assist.

ONE QUESTION
ADDT Includes had a third option - and that was to include Dynamic Includes from a database. It works the same as your "dynamic plugin" but comes from a database recordset rather than being manually input. Will this be added as an option in the near future - or am I just missing a way to do it already?

ONE COMMENT
I find pages becoming unstable if I combine plugin types. For instance, I might include a plugin dynamically, then on the page that is inserted it may include some static plugins.

EG: Page A includes Page B (dynamic through page url) and Page B includes Page C and D statically)

When I try this is fails to work - but being preliminary I don't know if this is by design or not. If I do the same scenerio but with the first step being static as well - everything works fine - it's only occuring when I try to mix dynamic with static.

Any thoughts?

If you wanted to store your plugins in a database you could just use a standard Dreamweaver Recordset filtered however you need and then use static plugin and bind the value to the recordset column.

I'd like to investigate the problem you are experiencing with nested plugins. I believe it should work... What part of the page fails to work? Do you have an example you can share publicly here? I'll look into it further and see if we can get it working properly.

Did this help? Tips are appreciated...

Hi Ray,

I kind of figured I could bind it to a recordset. That makes far to much sense, and is even better than the old Interakt system.

The problem I had was in some preliminary testing. I will do up a decent sample in the next day or two and point you to it - presuming the problem with still exist with the final version (I was using the Beta version).

Ray,

You can disregard the problems I was having. Everything is working as expected with my tests today - using the release version. It was either a problem with the Beta I had - or I was just too tired and missing something at the time.

Its working great! Thanks.
