templates are awry

Thread began 8/03/2010 3:24 pm by john.pike383409 | Last modified 8/11/2010 8:14 am by Jason Byrnes | 2301 views | 12 replies |

templates are awry

I am using the SA wizard. When I preview the templates, they look fine. However, when I build the pages they appear without headers, footers, and the fonts are off size. Yesterday I changed to using document relative links from root relative links.

Any helpful hints?

John

Do you have any links to these pages so that we can check them out? Normally any page derived from a template should have all the same design elements as the template does. The paths should be adjusted properly in any of the derived pages. Please post back with links and or screen shots so that we have a visual reference. If you can post back with the template file, the resources used in the file and one of the pages that is off I can do some checking on this.

These files alone will not be enough to troubleshoot the issue. I will need to have all of the other resources that are used in the template file like the css and any images that are present. Do you have a link or some screen shots as a visual reference, this would also help.

Eric:

Attached are additional files.

The Bannser_White_Header.pmg, MedicalQuestFooterShort.png, and MedicalQuest.css are linked files.

FileLayout.png is a simple image of the file layout.

Preview.jpg is an image of the Network Solutions preview.

LoginOptions is an image of the Network Solutions Wizard.

CompletedLoginPage is an image of the final product.

I attempted to produce just a login page rather than keep working through the registration and update pages and the results are the same.

Let me know what else you might need.

Thanks.

John

There are no additional files attached to your post. You will need to make sure they are in zip archives to attach properly. Is the site being tested locally? Do you have any screenshots that you can also post back with?

There are no files attached to this post, are the files too large? If so you may need to attach more than one zip archive to your reply. When you attach the files you should be able to see them as attachments before you post the reply. Do you have any screen shots of the issue?

It seems that there is something wrong with the template file that you have posted. When I view the file all that it has on it is PK. I'm sure that there is a simple explanation for the result that you are experiencing but it is difficult for me to say just what is off without being able to see the problem and the code behind it. To get to the bottom of this post back with these things:

the templates folder from your site in a zip archive
the css folder for the site in a zip archive
the images that are used in the images folder in a zip archive
the bad page in question, and a good page from the site that is showing all of the regions

With these three parts I will be able to reproduce what you are seeing and experiencing and help you get past this.
