Can't get preview to display on any user account other than "Administrator"

Can't get preview to display on any user account other than "Administrator"

Using the search, I looked around and found several other people with the same issue. The Preview window won't work for any of your products when I am in any of my normal user accounts, all of these have "Admin" privileges.

I am also clicking "run as administrator" when opening dreamweaver, but that doesn't seem to help and I still get the message directing me to click to show the preview in the browser. (No the preferences menu option is not checked)

When I enable the administrator account (Win 7 X64) and install the plugin, I have no problem whatsoever getting the preview window to show.

Is there anything else I can do to try to get this working other than having to use the program from the core "Administrator" account?

All of the other threads I could find related to the issue seem to have just died left unresolved.

You should not be installing the extensions from the built in administrator user, you should instead be installing the extensions for individual users on the system. Have you tried it like this yet? If so what is the result that you are getting?

I only resorted to installing the extensions on the administrator user after failing to get the preview to work in my normal working user profile. No matter what combination of normal dreamweaver start, start as administrator, or compatibility settings I use, I can't get the preview to work in my normal working user profile.

But as soon as I enabled to administrator account and tried installing there, everything worked easily.

So obviously there is a Win7 permissions problem in there somewhere, but I have no clue how to solve it other than just having to do my design work in the administrator user, which I would prefer not to do.

I'm able to run the extensions with previews working in Win 7 pro and ultimate with admin level users without having to install as Admin so it might be something specific to your setup. I have opened a ticket for you on this issue so that it can be looked into further. To update the ticket or check on it's status login and visit your support history.

I am having the same problem. The preview is not working. Please notify me when a solution to this problem is found. I just purchased my webassist products and would like to be able to use them.

This issue should be resolved in future updates to the extensions as they are released. Here is the fix that was found:

Open up your %appdata% folder and browse to Adobe > Dreamweaver CS4 > en_US. Then go to Configuration/Shared/Webassist.

In here you will need to find the WA_Preview.js files for each of the products. When you find the files you will need to update them by doing a find and replace in all the WA_Preview.js files like this:

find all:

MM.createProcess(null, batchLocal

and replace with:

MM.createProcess(batchLocal, ""

That will fix the problem.
