HTML Editor wipes out all my style info on my update page...???

I'm using the HTML Editor plugin. I'm building the pages within the design and code view combined and sometimes I just build the code in DW and then copy it into code view.

When I do that it works just fine and loads the page fine and everything, but then when I come back to update that value (the HTML editor has an initial value of the current DB value) it winds up wiping out all of my style information I provided and breaks it all.

For example, if I add the following into a tag...

<p style="color:F00;">Whatever here</p>

And update it that works just fine. Then when I come back to this same update page again the font is no longer red and when I look at source view this is what it shows...

<p style="">Whatever here</p>

What gives!? It's driving me crazy. Any information on why this is happening would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

edit the html editor instance.

For the initial value, click the lightning bolt and reselect the description column from the recordset.

This will remove the reformatting that is applied.

Ah, I see what happened.

I used DataAssist to create the original update page and then went back and replaced the basic text fields it generated with these HTML editors. Apparently it left that str_replace() function on there and was causing the issue. I didn't even think about that.

So anybody using DataAssist and HTML Editor keep that in mind. I re-applied the initial value and it works fine now. Thanks!

Yes, exactly. the formatting applied by DataAssist was causing the issue.
